Go to a locksmith and buy some ABUS padlocks I have 4 all keyed alike and with various length shackles on them Including one long enough to go right through a KMAR wheel carrier handle on the bumper.

Cost from $40 up depending on the shackle length and the grade of lock it is Mine are 83's,

45 & 50mm wide

I was told it was not a suitable topic for the forum.

Many people have suffered far worse fates (though none at the hands of the Moderators, AFAIK)..Cheer up.

All the best for the new year.

Cheers

Supercheap are having a "50% off Stocktake Sale", Swampy, from 27-29th December. Just make sure you see the fine print "up to" included on their advert. :-)

Went to Supercheap in Cairns on Boxing Day. What with 20% off ALL items and my Chrissy present $50 voucher, I didn't do too bad.

Not really "Christmas" specials - but Tie Downs Direct have a few specials running - and their prices overall, are excellent, and beat a lot of eBay "deals".
They're based in Dandenong, and mostly specialise in truck-related stuff - but they have a wide range of other useful items as well.

They stock 4x4 recovery stuff, LED lights, water tanks, under-tray toolboxes, drawer slides, ratchet tie-down straps, jacks, and all sorts of brackets and fittings.

They currently have an 8 tonne jack on special for $23.10 (inc GST).

They have 35mm wide x 6m long ratchet tie downs with 1000kg restraint capacity for $13.49 (inc GST).

I bought 4 of the above, and freight was only $12.65 for all 4 to W.A.

Most importantly - all their ratchet straps are compliant with Australian Standard AS/NZS 4380 for load restraints.

Watch you don't get caught out with cheap load restraints or rope that does not meet Australian Standards. There's a lot of it about.

The National Load Restraint Guide states that ALL load restraining materials - rope or tie-downs - has to meet AS/NZS 4380 standard.

With the amount of loads falling off today, the authorities are getting very demanding on proper load restraint, because of the level of danger to other road users when a load falls off.

Their site is - tiedownsdirect.com.au.

Cheers, Ron.

hi Slow one
Masters had a cord Olsent? Bunnings matched with HPM [decent insulation thickness]
Yes my original 15amp lead must be of the cheap ones as it is skinny, although it does have 1.5mm wire . Cheap also by the moulded plug ends . But still it lasted 18 years [cord chewed up now and plugs worn out ].
