Gday
Another
grey hair was gained on Wednsday when i locked in the hubs and proceeded to climb the steepest
hill we could find at Wannangatta . Half way up I had wheel spin and slid down at a great rate without steering because i was trying to stop from sliding over the edge, about 150mtrs with no trees to stop me. Quite a thrill to let the brake pedal off and be able to steer, still not knowing if i was in control yet. Glutton that i am, to have another go, i let more air from the tyres and into it again, wheel spin and another
grey hair. Damn i said , there has to be something wrong. I radioed my travel companions and told them i was off down the
hill to have a look. When the back tried to pass the front i gained another
grey hair. Now to cut a long story , i found tht the left front hub had snapped a tooth and was not locking .
I did a tempory fix and went up
Billy goat bluff the next morning with no trouble . So a couple of new locking hubs to come and another drive to
test them.

Muz, is this a real story or are you just embellishing your latest effort in engaging the hubs to get it up on the bark garden for the missus to wash it?
Happy New Year your greyness ;-)

Ha Ha!
We were heading up the Wombat Spur Tk out of
Eaglevale on our way to the Wonnagatta Valley when Muzbry went missing:-)
Wes and I, quite naturally, thought that Muzbry had stopped for a chat. Then he radioed up that he'd gone for a slide - backwards!
Oddly enough another party came to grief on the same section of track later on that day.
They were coming down.
Towing another vehicle.
No steering and no brakes.
At around 10.00 pm that night.
All in all - a great weekend.

Hi Muz
I would have thought it would have been new undies rather than a few
grey hairs.....lol
I have only ever had a similar situation once and as you know, it's no fun.
All the best for 2016.
Cheers
Stephen

Last time up Billy Goat I accidently the 100 series in 2wd. No hassles, so I hope that wasn't the "steepedt hill" that you spoke about, Muz.
