Has anybody recently travelled from Lake Cobbler to the King River area via the staircase? How where the road conditions - we will be towing a Kimberly camper trailer behind a standard Pajero. Any great problems there?
Thanks in advance.

Used to take good clearance but I gather it's been cleaned up.

Went up and down it yesterday with 3 vehicles ( 2 Rangers, 1 LC100), non bottomed out, reasonably easy drive compared to a few years ago. Staircase is a misnomer nowadays. Plenty of worse tracks in that area.

To answer my own question, it was no problem - a bit rough but we got to the bottom and said "I think that was it".
