Birdsville has received 37 mls. rain, so far, and more today. All the roads are closed as is the Simpson Desert - this means though that there will be beautiful wildflowers in a couple of weeks, in the Simpson and along the roadways.

Hi Ruth, glad to see you are back on deck again, you have done so well with all that too. Firstly the rivers to go to Lake Eyre and now the deset flowers. I promise not to add too much to the roadside watering with my showering.

The Navigator and I hope to meet you on or about the 10th of June assuming all goes well for us and the roads are passable then too.

It is good news and doesn't it make you want to go back. Next best thing will be catching up with Ruth and Ian on the Long weekend in Berry. I am really looking forward to seeing them.....

P.S. - Guess we will get a few posts from Birdsville now that the roads are closed.

Andrew

Dear Wonderful Wilflower of the West, you won't have to worry about the roads around Berri being closed as we've had 10% of buggerall rain down here. Don't forget to pack your thongs though.
Glad your getting some rain up there.
How long do you anticipate the roads being closed for?

Hi Ruth, isnt it great. We have had 51 ml's here in Tarcutta and even the stock are dancing in it. We have had before this 5ml since before xmas. All the dams were bone dry and the paddocks were as flat as your carpet. Hopefully the flowers will be out when we get up to Birdsville in July.

Ahhhh, the old reboot. As an ITS Consultant, I love the old reboot. I just hope it doesnt rain again until August, as the old Plenty Highway Rig pic is getting a bit old...I want to take that wonderful photo deep within the Simpson Desert in July......fingers crossed
