To assist Parks Victoria in managing four wheel drives, a Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed with Four Wheel Drive Victoria, the peak body representing recreational four wheel driving in Victoria.

The Memorandum provides the framework for a positive and constructive working relationship that will preserve and enhance recreational four wheel driving in Victoria in an environmentally sustainable manner into the future. The key points of the Memorandum are:

A Four Wheel Drive Advisory Committee to facilitate communication, information flow and input to decision making;
Parks Victoria consulting with Four Wheel Drive Victoria on relevant policy and park management issues, particularly development of park management plans, track use and closures;
Working together on cooperative ventures such as track identification, signage and education programs; and
Four Wheel Drive Victoria assisting Parks Victoria through track maintenance, community education and industry engagement.

Bradley as the boss of 4wd Vic Mr Michael Coldham at the last Toyota Landcrusier Club (Vic) meeting said the two departments operate at different ends of the spectrum.

Parks Vic is working activley with 4wd Vic to obtain the best outcome for recreational users, where as DSE is appearing to hinder co operation in everyway possible.

Ray,

Good to hear that there are some positive moves in Victoria. Hopefully they can get some momentum together and run with it and in doing so get others onside.

Cheers
