We are running Windows10 on a new computer after a crash. I have been requested to register and login each time I tried to make a comment in Wildflowers or when trying to start a thread (5 or 6 times, receiving an acknowledgement each time). As you can see, I'm a slow learner!
I am now using my Surface on Windows 8RT. Is there a problem with Windows10? How do I fix it?

Cheers, Min

I am using W10 on my desktop along with Google Chrome - no problems with login, just click the shortcut and I am there.

What browser are you using?

I had a similar problem with Safari on my iPad, every time I go to caravanersforum.com I need to login again. Found another browser called Dolphin that keeps me logged in every time. Safari works fine on all the other site but caravanersforum.com ?????

Now there is your problem Its Bleep

I use Firefox and it works perfectly and puts your history in day and date unlike Chrome which spits it all over the place and Google despite endless requests from around the world wont fix it.

Regarding FIREFOX, we used it for years but an ad on a sidebar was inadvertently touched and all hell broke loose whenever FF was used. It was deleted and reloaded from a site that was probably not genuine so big problems continued. May not be the correct term but malware comes to mind.

Hardly Firefoxes fault, Malware bytes or a Virus program would be advisable.

I have never got anything off Firefox and dont have any sidebars when it appears so seems its your computer or an associated program. Firefox has no ads associated with it.
In your present machine Go to internet options in the control panel and clear everything except history and see if it fixes it

I use Nortons Security, Malwarebytes and Adblock PLus and can honestly say I have had only one problem in past 10 years, when I was reinstalling windows and a virus sneaked in before I got Nortons reinstalled.

Windows 10 and MS Edge here, works superb!
No issues at all, would suggest the issue is with your setup of cookies.

EO has a 'keep me logged in' button which I have clicked.
I checked cookies and I think they are on(!?) Will double check with the family tech-head later today.

Why not try Google Chrome and see if that works.

Have heard some negative reports about edge and have not used IE for about 6 years.

I seem to have fewer problems with Chrome than I do using Edge... there are still some issues with Windows 10 I think! I don't have any problems with signing in though. Only did it the once and it is automatic since then.
I finally took the plunge and did the update to 10 at Christmas. Finding it much easier to use than I had been told.

Heather

I have Windows 10 & hate it, BUT I do not have any trouble with my browser remembering me.
BUT Windows 10 decided the other day to not let me open my start menu. Very frustrating.
I have googled the problem and it is a common one but you need a degree in science to be able to understand and follow the instructions to fix it. Windows are aware of the ptoblem but can't be bothered with fixing it.
Just another con

Been using Win10 for months and Chrome for years. No problems with either.

Your problems may have something to do with 'cookies' after your crash.

It has been set up so that I get a warning on cookies.

So do you allow Cookies or refuse them as some sites rely on them to recognise you.

Only really need to disallow third party cookies.

I volunteer in a Charity place that refurbishes computers when they're donated.
We mainly install W7 but do quite a few W10 upgrades and re-hashing for customers.

The Windows Edge is Not a recommended ( by me at least ) internet browser as it's got more report back to Windows than Google ever tried.
I use Firefox for general stuff and Google Chrome for Facebook.
( I know Face book is full of ''reports'' almost as many as Google, but I don't live on FB like plenty do )

If your needing any upgrades / fixes to W10 I highly recommend ....... winaero.com
They have all the latest on W10 as well as other systems like Ubuntu, Linux etc.

Just make sure you get /got it from herehttps://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Never download anything from Softonic, Filehippo or Cnet sites as you will get unwanted addons (malware)
You probaly got the sidebar from a site you visited or by express installing a program.
I ONLY EVER do a CUSTOM install of anything except something like Microsoft Office.
Some programs that are supposedly "Free" have stuff like Ask Toolbar and Search Protect in the installers and are very invasive and hard to get rid of.
Another one I inadvertantly tried was TurbomyPC A pain in the proverbial to get rid of.
This is well worth trying as is an excellent antimalware program

Yes Tom, we learned the hard way about not being careful where we reloaded Mozilla from. That is why we stopped using it. All good now.
