Pop up camper

We just got a pop up camper after years of tenting and a swaging its a old manual lift one jayco song bird has anyone out there fitted gas struts or worked out a easy way to put them up as it's pretty heavy for the wife and I wouldn't like to loose our fingers at the start of the holidays any thoughts

Yeh when your lifting the most of weight its on heavy side but that wasn't the question in the end lol

I hired a wind up one years ago and some friends have and old one now, they don't seem too bad. Is yours not wind up? If not , if gas struts could be fitted somehow they would surely help
