Has anybody travelled recently on the "back road" travelling east from
Beagle Bay then south to the Great Northern Highway and then onto
Derby?
The HEMA map says "This back track between
Beagle Bay and the Great Northern Highway is not a gazetted road, and is on private land. Use at own risk - some car insurance may not be valid for travel on this track."

Yep, the La Djardarr Bay Road is a
well maintained track and no better or worse than the Main
Cape Leveque Road was at the time. Plenty of cattle about and also a bit of water so advised not to travel at night. An interesting drive and certainly saves a bit of time and distance if headed east from
Beagle Bay.
Blogs on the drive and a few photos are below.

We travelled through there last year upon the recommendation of the good bloke at Tyrepower
Derby. Great track but it is quite narrow in
places and we got some pinstripes, we didn't see the bypass track and travelled on what we thought was the main track (there were tyre tracks leading in & out on the other side) and through a swamp, picking out bits of reed for a while after that, once we got through we noticed the bypass track - oh
well.
Nice drive though just watch out for the cattle
cheers
