I can recommend the Big 4 at Coburg. No permenants, well managed, clean.

Crystalbrook caravan park near warrandyte is the only one near the eastern suburbs worth staying at. Its in wiki camps. We have relies in ringwood and its the one we settled on.

Stayed a few years ago and it was absurd. Only a few tourist sites and they are on a slope. To level the van the towbar was on the ground or actually below it because I had to dig a hole to get the drawbar low enough to make it level.

We are self contained so I don't know about facilities but the place was clearly overrun by permanents. Never go there again.

Was in Melbourne a few weeks ago and used the Big 4 at Coburg.

I've stayed at both the Wantirna CP and Coburg Big4 in recent years - as mentioned, Wantirna it is a big rambling place and you could be on sloping, terraced ground. Coburg is much smaller and the streets on the way in are a bit squeezy, but overall it is much quieter and 'nicer' :-).
On Google Earth......
Wantirna ..... 37°51'3.01"S 145°13'17.02"E (the actual gravel they put us on)
Coburg ...........37°43'21.70"S 144°59'2.97"E (as you can see, lawned, much smaller place)
