Woodhouse Lagoon

Hello,

Has anyone ever seen water in Woodhouse Lagoon?
I saw it almost full once in April 2003.

I have subsequently been to the lagoon three further times and it has been bone dry each time.

Would love to hear if anyone else has seen water in it, pics would be interesting.

Nice photo Alan,

I've been there three times its always been dry. The only water I saw in the area was in the vehicle.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for that.
I have had a look at the historical rainfall data for that region and there was well above average rainfall early in 2002 and high rainfall early 2003. This might be one of those water bodies that only holds water every decade or so (similar to Lake Boonderoo)

Cheers
Alan

I think you've been the lucky one Al. A bit like DWC I reckon.

Dry both times for me in 08 and 15. We were fortunate to have water in Alexander Spring on both trips though.

Cheers.

Thanks Mick,
I've never seen the spring dry, though it was down to about a foot deep one year.
The marked tree at the southern side of the lagoon has gone now too by the way - completely disappeared.
Cheers
Alan

Hi - I have an update.
Two weeks ago there was water in the lagoon.
However, the water is subsiding at a rate of about 75cm per day (judging from the water marks at the edge).
