Came across this today. Might be good to know if you are travelling the Gibb at the same time. We will be a few days ahead of them. Apologies if the link didn't work.

Guess they won't kick up much dust though.

I hope they've got heavy duty suspensions fitted! I get a sore bum just riding a few kays around the suburbs! [;-)
It never ceases to amaze me, the number of people who ride bikes for thousands of kilometres across the country.
Came across one biker pedalling away on the South Coast Hwy last week, East of
Ravensthorpe and heading for
Esperance.
That's a long enough section of road (190 kms) in a car, let alone a bike!
When I lived on my gold
mine at Higginsville in the 70's and 80's, I'd regularly see cyclists pedalling past, on their way to crossing the Long Paddock and probably on to circumnavigate Australia!
Cheers, Ron.

Their problem will be the dust and other road users. People drive like maniacs, overtaking in the dust at high speed. A cyclist will be vulnerable and very hard to see.

Hi Amanda,
We came across them in 2014 up there and they were fairly spread, its a fair effort riding that route!
On the same sort of topic, heading south from
Derby either that year or the one before we came across the bleep box Rally heading north- the cars were spread out over 100km- probably 200 cars, apparently they were headed up the Gibb to
Darwin. I'm not sure where that many people would
camp along the GRR? Did anyone else see them that year?
Tony
