I've decided to go to a smaller independent mechanic from here on-
Where's one south of river in Perth that someone can vouch for?
(Apart from Robson)
Need to get my diesel injectors checked out.

Personally I would go to United Fuel Injection in Redcliffe, but they are not south of the river. I have had work done there and they seem very knowledgeable, prices are reasonable and they give free advice willingly.
As with anything automotive get a quote before proceeding.

Hi Paul, I've used cd diesel services on my 80. They rebuilt my pump and injectors. Not exactly sure where abouts they are in Perth.
I removed the units a sent them down for repairs. I can dig the receipt up if you like.

Hi Paul,
We have had many dealings with:
Lindsay Eaton Mechanical
13 Savery Way, Rockingham WA 6168 0438 593 402

Tell Lindsay that Charlie in the Green Mitsubishi Canter 4x4 Motorhome recommended him.
Regards,
Charlie

Hi Paul E6
if you only need your injectors serviced then by going to an injection service center you will cut out the middle man ala the mechanic who has to remove and send them to an injection center they can do the whole job onsite no other mechanic needed
cheers

Have used TLC in O'Connor for my 2006 100 Cruiser TD 4.2 . Extremely honest, no-nonsense people.

Immaculate workshop (You wont believe it-could eat dinner off the floor) and have your wallet in mind when recommending works to be undertaken- not a usual trait of some "Dealerships". Eg, they will listen and actually investigate issues before beginning to swap out parts. Customer gets what customer wants style of service. I live about 40 ks away and drive there to get the pride and joy sorted.

That said, as with most mechanics, they will send your injectors out if they need re-porting as that is a specialist task. Depending on brand, if they are single or twin spring etc, it could be from $130-$220 per injector to rebuild/re-port and flow test (1HD-FTE injectors from Toyota cost ~$500 EACH to buy new! so rebuild is the way to go)

I think they only work on TLC's (Toyota Land Cruisers) though...I could be wrong.

+1 for United Injection also...They spent time on the phone giving free advice regards rebuild vs replace etc...I will be getting them to do my injectors at the 200k service.
