Hi! Just looking for some advice on whether you would consider taking a full off road family van onto Fraser (21"6ft), towed by a disco 3. Looking at staying at cathedrals on Fraser. The van is a lotus trooper. Thanks for any advice you may have! Nikki ??

Have a look at current thread 132154, Nikki.

You might get some guidance there. A Lotus Trooper isn't a lightweight so be very cautious.

Talking to a workmate this morning and he said he's taken his Jayco van, about 18' 6", over to Fraser without any dramas. He did change the axles to under slung to get plenty of clearance coming off/going onto the barge.

I would suggest that Fraser Island is not the place to practice your sand driving capability in a caravan.
Get a good deal of experience somewhere else where a mistake won't cost so much. It can be very unforgiving.
