Hi 1025
I have a Polaris In Dash GPS Multimedia including camera in my 100 series.
It's the 7700 model and been in the car for about 7 years with no problems.
Cheers
Grant

A Friend of
mine put a Polaris unit in in 2008 and unfortunately had nothing but trouble with it. Had it replaced and several repairs done on it.
Be very careful if your vehicle has had a new windscreen as I believe some of his problems were due to water leaks ( Not the units fault I know)
However it never seemed to work as
well as he had hoped.
I guess there is always one who has problems real or imagined at times.

We have a VMS 700 model. Fully compatable with the cars wiring.

Tick from me also on VMS
I have the VMS X523.
Noting, I also run Oziexplorer on a Panasonic Toughbook which has a dashboard mount.

Just a warning. Forgot this bit.
The son's cheap chinese one couldn't even play a DVD/CD or the radio when Oziexplorer or the inbuilt street navigation programs were running. A boring drive if you can't navigate and listen to the radio at the same time. He now runs VMS.

"what is the best in dash gps for a 100 series cruiser?"
The one that suits your requirements & budget that you have not listed.
I run a Eonon Chinese unit with a motorised tilt display. Real handy for reducing glare as you can adjust to minimise.
Its done some 10,000Km of bad corrugations incl
Cape York so reliability is not a problem.

I put in a heap of time in searching for the best alternative and ended up going with the upgraded Toyota MMI that was already installed in my GLX 79 series. For my needs, I prefer to use the real deal, ie, paper maps when it comes to off road work.
When it was upgraded I got the reversing camera free.
