Greetings to all; been a while since I've played here!

After many adventures in my kayak, 4WD, in boats, scuba diving, hiking...and the most important one of getting my Aussie Citizenship :-) I am planning a trip to Perth from Townsville in October.
I did it in January 2008 on 4 wheels but this time will be doing it on 2.
Lots of planning still to be finalised but I'm putting this out there in the chance of meeting up with anyone else doing that road; both ways if possible. I need to be in Busselton on the 14th, leaving to come back on the 16th/17th.
I would prefer not to get into any debate about the mode of transport etc etc etc.
I will be taking many precautions and this wouldn't be the first time I've crossed this kind of terrain on a bike.
Apologies if this comes across as arrogant as that is not my intention, but I do know what I'm doing. However, I am also happy to ponder anything some of you old(er) hands may suggest!
So, I hope to be able to make some travel buddies even if the dates are a few days either side of what mine will be.(and those are still being decided...)
Kind regards to all
Tracy

I was one of the Oversize Pilot/Escorts in this convoy back in June 2004, a little rain stopped us for 2 days110Ks West of Giles, the WA side is not bad, it gets graded and there is a lot of hard-packed sandy sections, some soft near Docker River but over-all not bad, the NT section was corrugated and sections stoney, wasn't too bad either as no one got any tyre fractures. Have fun....we did.
