Little I,
I went for a drive out to the Lakes about one month ago. The road had just been opened and was in pretty good knick.

The level of the water at the main lake was down a little bit, may be 10 feet from the full water line.

There are a few detours around areas where water is still laying on the road.

Cheers

Lazylux,
About 20 kilometres from the the Lake is an old abandoned station house, there is an area where you can camp to one side of it.
There are a couple of tanks that had water in them, but I wouldn't like to drink it before at least boiling, good for a wash though.
Out at the Lake it's self there is an area where you can set up, there are toilets in the area.
There are trees around the banks of the lake.

Cheers
