Hi All,
I have a 80 series wagon, I want to change the rear lap belt to a sash type. Can this be done? Any ideas? I think they aren't safe enough.
Thank you

I think that to do anything with modifying a
seat belt requires an engineers certificate. Probably one of the most important safety items in a vehicle. Jump on the Toyota
forum. I reckon someone would of had the same concerns as yourself.
cheers

Lcool is the place to go Have to join for free but they have all the answers.
.
Centre belt may be problematic as no where for the top mount.
If seats can be passed as suitable the
seat belt can be attached to it but is a bit of a problem with the center one and possibly fairly expensive

Hi Larsy
I am not an engineer. What if you left the original lap belt in place and still used it, but added a second belt of some kind? You haven't amended the original belt, but you have added protection.

There is a harness which is like a racing harness that attaches to the rear floor mount and u thread the lap belt thru the bottom loops
It is for kids but with a belt adjuster it will solve your problem
