Dear Patrol owners,
I have seen Nissan Patrol dashboard melt down couple times (year 2000 - 2006). One of them was really bad. What cause this problem? Has anyone seen defective dashboard on Patrol ?

Your comments are appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards,
Colonel T

I always use a dash mate to keep the blazing sun off the dashboard of my vehicles.

It seems to prevent the dashboard from buckling and discolouring etc....but I've never seen one actually "melt-down" unless the vehicle has caught fire!!! What on earth are you doing to your Patrol for the dash to melt-down??????

I own a Chev now, but I have had 3 Patrols over the years, including a couple of 2000 models....never had any issues with the dashboard.

Have owned 3 x gu patrols , never heard of a dasboard melting as you suggest , however bubbling of the dashboard was widespread and nissan replaced dashboards well outside of the factory warrenty period. (My last patrols dash was replaced outside of the warrenty period ).

Dear Sir,
I am sorry that I did not say properly. I mean there are bubbles instead of melt down. One of them is really bad. Why does it happen? does it happen on Landcruiser?

Please advise me. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Colonel

Such a travesty would never occur in a vehicle of such class.

It is amazing how one little letter can seperate the classes....

Affluence versus effluence LOL

Hi Colonel
I had 2004 patrol that always had a dash mat on it and it still bubbled
There was a recall under warrenty on this fault, if you go to the http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum it is well documented there.
I dont know if you will still get one but hey you can only ask

Its actually a fault from the Factory. They replaced them under warranty. I had mine replaced even though the car was out of warranty.
