Article Comment: Plenty Highway

Hi everyone, we are leaving the Sunshine Coast for Winton this Thursday 26th May, and planning on going to Alice Springs via the Donahue and Plenty Highways. We are travelling with another couple, both of us have full off road vans and Landcruisers. Wondering how the recent rains have affected the tracks, if anyone has information we would be most appreciative. We plan to ring Tobermorey Station just before we leave as well. TIA, Merril.

You may want to contact Jervois Stn. for a better up date. Being in the middle they get reports from both directions.

7-8mm of rain (depending which side of town you live on)overnight in Winton, Merril, but don't think the system has, or will get down as far as Boulia and the Donohue.

Can't help with the Donohue/Plenty at the moment, but I'd be checking BOM site or Weatherzone over the next few days, to see what systems might be coming down through the centre, from Kimberley area.

It's a great drive, with some magic scenery.

Thank you Bob. We'll keep looking. After Alice Springs we are heading across the Great Central Road so this trip really will be a big one for us. Merril.
