I am driving from
Innamincka up the
Warburton Track and K1 line to
Poeppel Corner and then to
Birdsville over Big Red. Do I need parks passes from SA, NT and Qld?

I believe for the QAA Line you only need a pass if you will be camping along the track (Qld NP) otherwise the SA Desert Pass is all that is required

There's no pass but the QAA line is in the
Simpson Desert National Park controlled by the Queensland government so you are supposed to book camping like any other of their national parks which is quite a pain really.

Yes Andrew, you are in the SA Parks section going up K1.
A PITA really, such a short distance but to stay legal and avoid a fine if caught, you need to spend $150 !!

How long before you plan to do this Andrew?
Warburton Crossing is still closed, and could be for sometime. The photo is part of Bulletin 532 on 23/05/16.......

Yes, given how long
Warburton Crossing stays closed and the rain they have had, I't be surprised if it opens by the end of the year.
I'd have the
Warburton / K1 line as
plan B if it's possible at the time.
