Hi all
Ordered the R290 by phone from Julian in London on Monday night 24th. Arrived in
Perth on doorstep Friday 28th 0930!. Amazing. ($530 delivered in case you're wondering)
Now. Does anybody know exactly what I do next to get it going? Can I go to any Vodaphone
shop in
Perth to get a sim card and get connected? Or only certain dealers?

Think you have to go to globalstar.

well.
Let me know if vodafone are any good (they don't seem to be in
Sydney).

I recently purchased an R290 and went into a Globalstar Dealer (Melb). After completing the application form, they gave me a SIM Card and within an hour the phone was working.
I initially had some "finger" trouble to get it to work in Satellite mode, but once I figured it out the phone works really
well !
Costs:
$530 for the phone
$200 Connection fee
$35 per month & includes $10 of calls.
