I got Procat for last years snow trip and have since lugged it late night fishing and early-morning bird watching, it's a great appliance...
But now it wont turn on and I am finding an oily substance inside the gas fittings.
When I turn the gas dial there isn't isnt the familiar little hiss i've become used to.
When the gas hose is connected to a bottle and I press the little button inside the gas hose fitting there is a hiss but there is also some foamy oil that seems to go waxy before dissapiating.
Is it possible the oily stuff has clogged up my valve? and are the valves repairable?

Probably gunked up A friends van did that and the gunk had flowed down the lines and a new regulator didnt fix it . Had to blow it out with an airgun.
Usual cause is regulator is below the top of the gas bottle creating a dip in which the gunk can settle. Pipe to a regulator should flow continuously upward to prevent this.
Manual here

Or this one
http://www.manualslib.com/manual/29881/Coleman-Propane-5038.html#product-5029 Like any gas burning heater these should not be used in an enclosed space. I believe it is illegal in Australia to do so.
Yes there are some with a safety but would you trust them????

I've got the ProCat Model 5053A751A. The links are for the BlackCat unit.
Mine doesnt look as scary as that one, it's got a body an' all. I've got a manual.
