I'd like to know also in particular when "free spins" covet the whole page and there's no X in the corner to exit. Hence you end up closing the page altogether. Its forced advertising.

Gday
I think you will find that only" Paid Up Members" can turn off the advertising.

Muz

Where has David put the button that turns off the adds?

I can't find it since the new format went live.

Cheers

Eagle that sounds like you have a Trojan.
I'm pretty sure no such advertising exists on this site.

Hi Reggy
My wiztech son put a program on my computor called Adblock, works a treat and blocks out most ads. Hope this helps, they can be very annoying.
Cheers Dave

I prefer Add Block Plus too, it does allow advertising but not the kind that block up the screen. The site operators need to advertise to pay their way so ABP is a compromise, it allows banner ads and ads that are not invasive
On this website I still see the ads that run along the bottom which is fair enough, I do actually look at them because they have interesting stuff.
You could also try reducing the size of your screen, hold down CTRL and scroll the mouse button, usually the width of the text part will shrink away from the sides and allow you to read the hidden part.
If you think you have been "Got by something" I use CCleaner and Malware Anti Bytes, both freebies that were recommended by PC people and work well for me for 5 years or more.
