Can anyone help, have a Waeco Fridge 50L, that consistantly freezes, despite temperature display showing within normal range. Anyone else had this problem and if so how can I fix it. Thanks

Hi goldlink, the waeco website says to check that the "emergency" switch is set to n"normal". Otherwise you are bypassing the thermostat and food will freeze. Worth a check. Doc

goldlink, call Waeco on 1800 21 21 21 and ask for the service dept, describe your problem, they should be able to diagnose reasonably well.
My guess is it is probably the circuit board, this is what controls everything, and they can be problematic from all the rough treatment they get off road.

My Waeco 50 did the same thing. Got quoted $180 to replace the thermistor.

Hi goldlink,

Had same happen to me twice now and each time I take out the two philips screws on the control panel, just inside the lid, carefully lift the control panel out, unscrew the circuit board, disconnect the plug to the board and dry it out in the sun, wipe/clean the control panel and surrounds. when dry re-install and turn on.
Seems to happen occasionally when not enough airflow around unit in humid conditions. Usually find very damp around circuit board and have removed light as well to clean an replace as it usually plays up at same time.

Check that your temperature setting is Celsius, not Fahrenheit.
5 degrees F = minus 15 degrees C....... for the brass monkey.
