The last thing we expected to see was a beautiful green and Red Simpson Wetlands ! We took 6 days with a couple of 'rest' days to cross. In via the Pedirka then over the worst section between Dalhousie and Purni - corrugations, then down the Rig. We saw one vehicle in the 4 days in that section - serenity!
Rain chased us through the Lakes region heading East and we run into a story of woe by someone who bogged down in
Lake Poeppel. We took the Bypass.
That night it came down until about 0600. Six 4WD's came through and tackled the top lake. We could hear the revving and yelling and drove down to find the expected. They were
well equipped and a very muddy recovery was proceeding so we had no doubt they were all good. Radio contact later advised they were on the way a little wiser and a little muddier - ahhh the
young.
We ran 20 - 25 without tearing up the track on firm sand but dropped down as we came to the clay. The French is getting a real hard time and it's only early June.
Akubra's and Fly Nets came in handy. Mossi's and flies knock off after dark is the good news
Cheers

Hi Mother, Telstra "no service" in the bush is legendary and we are still travelling but here is a couple which at least show some contrast.
8 degrees at Skytrek then the Desert :) Stay tuned.
