Christened the new work vehicle last week headed north west of kalgoorlie via broadarrow - orra banda - rowles lagoon - callion then from callion it was east to musson soak via an excellent exploration track after musson soak we passed numerous rocky outcrops before coming to a claypan after skirting the claypan the track deteriated to usual goldfields standards and passed a large quartz outcrop before following the base of an interesting breakaway for about 1k the track passed to the top of the breakaway (good views) and into thick broom bush country before quickly diusapearing retracing to the top of the breakaway ariel photos indicated another track leading to the nw so after much searching on foot we followed this abandoned track for about 5k which lead us to another abondened track heading ne hich lead us to the track we were after heading east unfortunatly this track had not been used since the 70s and was quickly lost so we had 7k of bush bashing ahead of us after 5k the bush got the better of us so it was on foot through 2k of thick broom bush to check out some old exploration drilling sites and another 5k to alarge granite outcrop overlooking ks of yellow sandplain and broombush. the way out was no better as the track heading ne dissapeared so it was back to the photos and west to an acces track to currarra soak and back to kalgoorlie - the vehicle no longer appears new. word of warning some of the tracks we followed are marked on the 250k kalgoorlie and 100k nearanging sheets and are now either v hard to follow or have totally dissapeared

Wow, I needed a couple of beers after reading that first sentence. Just let me catch my breath..........

I sympathise with you about the car not looking new any more, but isn't that what we all want, our car to look like it actuall 4wds rather than a town pram???!!!

Keep having fun!

sorry I dont put much effort into grammer or spelling 3 out of 10 - bad! anyway dont be sorry about the vehicle it is a work tojo ute and is about the only way to see these remote areas as some of the abuse to the bodys of these vehicles is severe not for privately owned vehicles
