Does anyone one know if the module can be moved from car to car -
I have one currently and don't really want to sell it with the car next year.
I thought maybe they are a standard unit with different interconnects, or perhaps need specific programming for a particular vehicle?
Can I get the original installer to adapt mine to a new vehicle, does anyone know?
Having a sealed circuitry, I thought perhaps they were all the same inside and specific car use was made through installer programming.

The person who will give the most accurate answer would be your installer I would think.
Either him or ring the distributor tomorrow
But Dieselcare site says this
Every single STEINBAUER module is individually mapped to the vehicle – there’s no ‘one-size fits all’ type approach here and it’s done completely safe.
Connectors are also vehicle specific

Did a Google search and found a place who say they can reprogram a chip depending on the engines involved - so I await their reply

The chips can be re-programmed but they are still vehicle model dependent.
You can move a chip from say a Prado to another Prado series but not to a 200 series.
