Haven't been there myself, but here's a heap of pics.
Might help decide and either justify or disqualify a trip.
Assume it's the one 300 miles downrange from Woomera launch pad ?

Hi Dean

We have been out there 3 times and if you are in the area, I think it is worth the time and effort and what a lot of people do not know, is that Dingo Claypan was the real starting point of the Emu area and was the first landing point from where they branched out and headed to Emu.

There are some great camping locations in the area and would recommend that you do it over a two day period, so you are not rushing it and another great point, there are no corrugations after leaving the Anne Beadell Highway.

Here are some images what it is like out there.

Cheers

Stephen

Hi Allan

Did you see that chap sitting in the chair alongside of Michelle. You think with all his professional experience, he would have done the gentleman thing and offered Michelle a seat......

But then again, Michelle might have wanted to stand up to wear those new Chinese safety boots in......lol

All the Best Allan and regards to Roz.

Cheers

Cheers Stephen,
Were only going out to Emu and back to Coober Pedy so based on your images we'll go out for a poke around.

Thanks Stephen,
I started drafting a reply to this post myself on Friday and got confused what pics to include/not so didn't submit. Thanks for making the effort. I knew you'd be the one to do a good job of the reply.

I actually haven't seen some of these pics before (with the kids and the flag pole etc).

I also don't recall seeing the pic of myself in thongs around the campfire - but I think I'd just got changed after a run so feet were probably needing some air!! I actually remember that whole day very fondly and the run that afternoon down the track from that camp was the best of the whole trip. Who else can log a run on Strava in the middle of that desert!

Michelle, keeping ahead of you on that run took it out of me.
That's why I'm slumped in the chair next to you! lol
More pics on way via email.
