Has anyone got a security nut and collar on there 9350 Antenna and if so where did you purchase it from, I have contacted several of the HF Radio Shops around Australia but no luck so far,......... the little padlock you can put on the bottom would not deter some who wants it more than I do.

I do not have one on mine. Have you asked your radio club members/committee?

Hi Cobber

I can't help you on the "nut" but can say I have had a HF Autotune on all vehicles in the past 20 years and never had a problem, it is still there...

Cheers, Baz - The Landy

We're living in the generation of cordless angle grinders, Cobber!

Do as Baz does and enjoy your travelling,

I drilled a hole through the part of the bolt below the nut when antennae is fitted and then used a padlock.

I centered and welded a round tube about 40 mm long on the base of bracket when the nut goes slightly smaller so a socket wont fit inside then machined the socket so it fits up into the tube to undo it .

I purchased one from Lake Macquarie Communications (02 49421966) along with my HF radio and antenna.
I also have them on my driving lights but they were purchased from an auto parts supplier. I can't remember which one, try Repco etc.

I tried some years ago to buy a security nut but they were not available anywhere, so just used a padlock. Have never had any problem.

Yes that it what I am after but the hole would have to be the size to fit the 9350 shaft which I think is either 12 or 14mm.
