Hmm seems Australia really is on the move. Nothing to do with Governments of course, we are shifting northwards and out 1.5m compared to GDA 94
Australian Co-ordinates out by 1.5m
There's a new GDA 2017 coming out apparently.

Gday
At that rate we will be the "Tropic of Victoria " pretty soon and all those caravans with
grey people will be heading South again.

Hi Muzbry
Don't worry about the Capricorn of Victoria, it is just another dastardly deed
performed by the Victorians so they can take over God's own country,....ie Tasmania.
I hope all the Politicians take note of this shift to the north so maybe they can now reduce our Ferry costs to the Mainland with the reduced fuel they will be using.
LOL

Gday Rum
Put the fence closer to your own house and then you wont have to mow

Hi Boobook
It shouldn't worry us travelers to much as most digital maps are set to their required datum.
When this new datum is released maps will come out with that datum so should not be a problem.
The only problem I can foresee is if you manually take co-ords from one datum and erroneously apply it to a map on the other datum. 1.5 metres isn't too much though.
Cheers
Alan
