We came in off the
Oodnadatta Track yesterday, travelling from North to South. Weather forecasts had said it would be fine weather with a slight chance of small showers at the Southern end. It rained. There was more than the slight showers predicted - about 10mls apparently.
We have travelled a number of times on this track and seen it in dry and wet conditions. This tome we came out covered in mud and clumping clods of dried mud down the bitumen near
Leigh Creek.
The road was slushy and starting to get slippery at the
Lyndhurst section and we assumed the drying weather would help dry it out further so there would be no road closures. But now we see there is more rain occurring...
So if you plan to travel on this track
check the road reports before departing - although I am guessing it will be OK now.

A month earlier (3 July) we went up the track. It had been opened 48 hours earlier.
There were a couple of sticky/clingy sections SE of
William Creek. The "watercourse" that is 1-2km SE of the Kempe Rd (CP-O)
junction just out of
Oodnadatta was
still under some water and the "verges" were soggy as.

Talk to God at church on Sunday. He (or She) is in charge of that stuff.

Ozi M. Just be careful you don't make a right turn onto the
Oodnadatta without checking first.

Came through on the 4th and 5th, north to south. All good and dried out. A bit of rutting from time to time, and road works around Algebukina, but mostly smooth as.
Cheers
