HELP! Hi all I have a garmin 60c colour moving map. Have spent hours trying to get it to work with ozziexplorer. 60 comes with usb cable so had to down load the trial version from the web. Can get a way point from the gps and place it on the map that you are viewing (nat maps) but are unable to get the moving map part to work. eg find map from present location ETC. Tried lots of different settings. Computer is oshiba tecra s1 mobile (P4) Has anyone got any idears apart from burning it !!
Have the maps loaded on the hard drive. sorry deleted them in frustration. CHEERS PAUL

What version of Oziexplorer are you using? I think only the very latest development version (3.95.3g2) will work with moving maps and USB.

The download version is 3953g downloaded about 3 weeks ago.
Contacted Ozzie after trying to setup with the 60c on a 2 year old version that I bought for a Garmin 90 (Aircraft) gps and never tried to connect. That version is looking for a com port. Thanks for the reply Paul

Goto this page http://216.218.220.254/dev/development_version.html and read the changes. The g2 version is only a couple of days old and enabled moving map for USB. It will not work before this version.

Gerk

Not sure about Garmins but on Magellans the default NMEA (ie data stream used for moving map from GPS) setting is OFF...so my suggestion is make sure NMEA is turned ON, on your GPS.

OziExplorer website says that the trial version does not allow communication with GPS..though you state you downloaded a waypoint from GPS to PC (i think thats what you meant)??? Do you have a registered version of OE, if so why did you download the trial version? You should, if required download latest upgrade which has support for latest Garmin..this is availabel on the same page as the trial version. If you dont have registered version then you should lash out and buy it - excellent GPS Mapping software.

Cheers
