No the road wasn't closed! We came in from Pooncarie under the advice of the local district roads/traffic co-ordinator whom we sought advice from before travel, the day was fine and sunny until we were nearly there - just enough to set the black off. Just to pre-empt any response the photos were taken after being stuck for over six hours.

We were indeed and the navigator remained seated for nearly 7 hours as I tried everything to get out, but it was pointless, so a quiet night in the van was required.

Sounds like my wife, if I had got bogged it would have been my fault and she would have stayed firmly entrenched in the vehicle and would have expected to be carried to the van for the night so that she didn't get her feet muddy, Ha ha.
