A new book about the nuclear testing at
Maralinga has recently been published. (Yes, yet another!)
It is titled "Atomic Thunder" by Elizabeth Tynan and available from
Newsouth Books.
I learned of the book when Phillip Adams interviewed the author on
Late Night Live.
I have yet to read this book but have ordered a copy and will review it on this
forum in due course.
Incidentally, this month of September is 60 years from the first atomic
test at
Maralinga.

Hi Allan
Thanks for the thumbs up. Not sure how much you paid for the book, but you can get them on eBay for $30.95 including postage.
Let us know what you think about it before I order my copy.
Cheers
Stephen

I thought you would be interested Stephen.
$34.99 at Newsouth Books.
I'll put up a review as soon as I have read it.
$27.95 at Booktopia. I was a bit hasty!

Allan,
Just came across
this link to an Australian Geographic article. Worth a look for those that haven't had the privilege of going there.

Thanks
John, that AG article added to my fascination of
Maralinga which lies somewhere between morbid and euphoric.

My wifes Aunt Evelyn [still alive and kicking though a bit deaf nowadays] actually worked at
Maralinga as a typist in the offices during the 'tests'.
