currently meekatharra caravan park is closed for refurbishment -ie been told by authorities current facilities non compliant so they being sorted out for time being how long this will take no idea.

Shire of meekatharra are allowing people to have a transit stay ie overnight in self contained units in the townsite or for longer stays out at peace gorge with self contained units - self contained refers to must have a onboard sullage tank or a portaloo no tents or swags nor sleeping in vehicles is permitted.

anybody who needs diesel only caltex have a hi flow diesel 24 hr credit card fuel card outlet typically 10cpl less than others in town

WA Fuel ;
a qwik note on fuel discounts available along the Gr8 Northern Highway & other northern towns..

From the local Shire tourist offices or some servos, grab a small booklet "AMAZING NORTH"..there are BP 4c discount vouchers..no other purchases etc necessary to qualify for the rebate.

Exmouth also has a 24/7 card outlet in the light industrial area just south of the town... about 10c cheaper than town outlets.

Leonora ; Shell is approx 5c lower than the competition & they take Coles Express Plus flybuys cards for an additional discount.

might just help a few travellers.

based on travel through WA July-Sept '16
cheers

About time the Council did something about the Meekatharra Caravan park.

It was the only park we saw up that way recently that was a 'fail', with a capital F.
Filthy toilets, mud and slush, Campers kitchen with cockroaches everywhere and so on.

Most other towns had good to excellent facilities. Cue and Yalgoo in particular.

An alternative to staying around Meeka is Karalundi Caravan park, about 50 klm north of there. An aboriginal religious community that has great facilities and a basic shop. Locally run, the service with a smile was fantastic.
Reasonably priced, and great burgers too.

Couldn't agree more Paul. Karalundi was a great find on our recent trip up that way!
