Travelling down the highway last week I witnessed the most horrific sight of a full grown German Sheperd that had evidently come off the back of a truck or ute , the body lying on the side of the road, and the most distressing sight of the head sitting upright two metres away with the collar and short piece of leash still attatched,....Sure as hell don't want to see that to often!!!.What happened is anyones guess , but no animal deserves to die like that!. Got to be careful with dogs on the back of open vehicles.

Cheers Axle.

So the owner was not around, just the dead dog? I hope that is not the case and the owner took the dog away for a proper burial. No you do not want to see that.

And pleeeeease be careful with your unsecured pets in the car.
A few weeks ago, travelling up the M1 to Brisbane to a funeral, we passed the sight of two tiny dogs dead on the highway, cars stopped behind and...
It was dreadful.
There were no houses around for miles and I have worked out (perhaps correctly, perhaps not) that they were perhaps in the car, a minor accident happened, the driver opened the door in a fluster and the two little dogs burst out into the path of M1 traffic.
It will live with me for a long, long time.
I can only imagine the owner...the driver(s) who hit them...

I wish I hadn't read this thread.
I like dogs more than many people.

Wow, you can tell who hasn't witness real human suffering in the masses when you carry on about a dead animal like this.

Julio,
No body wants to see any suffering.
Be it, people or animals.
You may have "witnessed real human suffering in the masses".
Does this mean we can't or you don't care about animals?

What would you know of what "real human suffering" any of us have witnessed? Has absolutely no relevance whatsoever to the topic.

Julio,

Your assumptions are in correct.
When I was a young bloke.
Our next door neighbours were Polish, they were both beautiful caring people.
Mrs K, had been held in a Nazzi concentration camp and had been torchered, having her fingernails ripped from her fingers among other things she would not speak about.
Having those barbaric things done to her, didn't stop her being a loving caring person.
Hideous things happen to good people, this doesn't stop them caring.
Caring about an other person or an animal is one of the this that makes us human.
Smile Julio, it will help.
Steve

Your anidiot Juluio. People like you give humans a bad name. If I had to choose between you and a pet dog being put down I know the 4 legged one would be breathing next day. If you want to chip in with crap comments get on another site.

Julio, you are a fraud. You have neither witnessed nor seen anything remotely distressing. You are a fraud!

Ours is a small dog and she rides in her secured basket in the back of the car where she can see everything. She is secured in the basket and wears a harness so we are safe and she is safe. It means we can safely get out of the car and safely drive. We have such a setup in both vehicles.
