Hi all,
Has anybody tried the system of changing the order of the shims in a landcruiser LSD as suggested a couple of years ago?
Seems like it copies the Patrol's great LSD system.
Thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian, you got me thinking as I have a 2001 troopy that I know the LSD is not very good , I have driven Nissans and they are twice as good. Google the question and most seem to say forget it.Hope it helps

I have never worried about the LSD in my Hilux. The car has just reached 160,000 ks and the LSD would almost certainly have stopped working years ago.
I installed an auto front locker myself when I bought the car almost ten years ago. Did it make a difference! I have never had any problems with it in the bush and deserts and would do it again any day.

Ian
I have had 2 diff rebuilds on my 1999 troopie and I both times the LSD was only affective for about 20,000 km , from all reports that seems about the best you will get .
If I ever require another diff rebuild I will be switching to a rear a E-Locker
Cheers
