Talk about journalists not reading their own work.
Check out the article on the popular Surf and Turf They used a "d' and not an "f". I certainly won't be trying their version.
Worth a laugh.
Phil
Quote from an email that I received from them just this minute:
LIVE IN LUXURY WITH THIS AUSSIE FAVOURITE
While the concept of the Surf and Turd originated in North America, it has become a favourite on restaurant tables across our own country. See for yourself just how easy it is to prepare this gourmet meal while on the road…

Sounds like
St Kilda beach in
Melbourne. There used to be lots of Polly Waffles in Port Philip Bay.

.
Or is it 'Canbra'? Or maybe 'Adlaid' or 'Brisbn'?
I know it can't be 'Purrf".
Hang on, it's a trick question. Australia's capital is 'A'.

The Americans created Surf and Turd, Australia refined it to Surf and Turf

That was a possibility. So it's another American saying that we have copied. I am sorry that I put it up.
I must say that I don't remember the saying from my childhood.
When are we going to stop sucking up to the Yanks. "Get Go" is the worst.
Thanks mate

Victorians will immediately think of 13th beach.
I don't know if the sewage outfall has been diverted, but it used to be the
home of the blind
mullet.
