Hi Everyone,

I just purchased at an auction a rooftop tent made with Poly Cotton Fabric. Unfortunately it looks like it has been stored on its edge when packed away and may have been subject to minor flooding. On unpacking the tent we found that it was full of spiders and their webs and also mouldy and smelly. Is there a way that I can clean this product to get rid of the stains and smells?

Hi Wooly,

I think you will find the long thread 54080 of help. Written by an industry expert I have found it helpful over the years. Worth keeping note of by anyone using canvas or vinyl. A search will get it from the archives.

Cheers, Graham.

A mixture of 1/2 teaspoon of Oil of Cloves to 1L of water will kill any mould spores. Bicarbonate of soda would help with the other smells. And give it a good airing........as long as it's not raining!
