Thank you to everyone for your great, helpful replies. My husband has his busiest time at work in Dec/Jan and so I have taken the kids away camping on my own for the last few years. I did a tag-along-tour a few years and really loved the area and have always wanted to get back without the time constraints of a tag-along and do some more exploring, but taking into account my limitations. I have read a few different 4WD books that have covered the same treks, and it's interesting the different ratings authors give on the same treks, so I much appreciate all the feedback I get. I did a trip to Fraser Island a couple of years ago and can honestly say, that it was made so my more enjoyable by the good advice and tips I received on this site. I'm happy to learn from anyone of any age who knows more than me and that would probably be all of you! Thanks again for taking the time to reply, I'm very appreciative and can't wait to get down there.
