Can't help with last year James- we did it a couple of years ago by going direct up between the dunes from about 60k west of poeppel corner , which made it a day trip up and day return trip to French line.

Thanks Robin. Do you have a waypoint or track file from where you left the FL. Not sure which way to go but your direct swale approach maybe the way to go.

Cheers
Jim.

If its information you seek then you'll probably need to squeeze a few more words out. :-)

There are 5 centres of Australia, Which one of these are you referring to as the geocentre? None of them use the term geocentre (which is not even a word.)

And I naturally assumed the fun one , the Simpson Geo Centre.

If it was the one near Finke " Lamberts then that was flat boring and lots of rubbish lying around it. Ok to camp and take a camper to though !

That's the one. I was looking for anyone with waypoint or track files from the French Line.
Cheers
Jim.

Hi James

The quickest way is to head a short distance up the Colson Track, then take the old shot line that heads up in a northeast direction until you get to this good shoreline that then heads north.

You do not head due west from the shoreline to the Geocentric, but continue a little further north, then follow a lesser used line and then into the centre that way. You will actually come in around a kilometre further west than the actual centre, but within the same swale.

Cheers

Stephen
