Very comprehensive - and really useful info - many thanks.
Referring to the sections on Cable Ratings & Current Ratings, if anyone is looking for Volt-Drop in Cables I've got a calculator that might be useful. (http://12voltblog.com.au/volt-drop-calculator/).
There's also a table to convert from B&S to Auto(mm) and mm² sizes. Please feel free to use these if you find them handy.

Excellent post ! Simple well explained and makes sense, should be a sticky on here. After all not everyone is a fulltime traveller and requires enough power to run a house.

For those of us that are still working and only get away when we can it takes a lot of the guess work out of it.

I find the comment on solar controllers interesting, everyone suggests MPPT on here when the subject arises.
