Hi forumites, we are headed for Sarina for several days and hope someone knows a good mechanic in town please? The Pajero injectors need doing and expect most of the day will be involved and I am hoping to avoid sitting around at Mackay for the duration. But will if need to. Thanks. Phil

As an ex diesel fitter, I'd be skipping the mechanic and going straight to a dedicated injection specialist.

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that as an option. My local mechanic who maintained my vehicles for thirty years was very good, but ill health caused him to close shop. He was particular with the injectors and I guess not all workshops will have the same ethics. I will consider that if I don't get a reccomendation. Cheers ?? Phil

Sorry, I will rephrase the issue.

Finally dug the service book out from it's new hidey place and see the service requires attention to 'valve clearance ' which I understand deals with tappet servicing and think it involves removal of the injectors or pipes and is fairly time consuming. The more I research it on the Pajeroforum the more convinvced I am that the job needs to be done properly, so if necessary I will go to Mackay for the day as recommended below.

Thanks , Phil

Brendan Cook from Diesel Power unlimited in Mackay would be your best bet. Failing that On Track Diesel would be the next choice.
