Just fitted a mod to the rear small door of the GU Patrol, which allows the door to open a full 90deg. Why didn't Nissan do that in the first place?
Made by Black Widow, cost $29.95.

A lot of money for one little bracket, but
well worth it. Fitted it in about 1/2 hour.
Cheers,
Gerry

Great idea Gerry
Only discussing the same problem with the wife today.
I am trying to fit a slide arrangement for my outboard motor and was concerned that small door didn't open enough.
Thanks for the link, will chase that bracket up

There is a free option, you remove the pin from the door stay, and re drill another hole in the bar, replace pin.
Was done yrs ago by a bloke on Patrol list.. Dont know how true it is, but he was happy

Yep, took mine off and extended the bracket that bolts to the back pillar "Stuffed up" when I fitted the fridge slide and couldn't open the fridge door completely,LOL So thought it was easier to make the Patrols door open wider than cut down the storage box.

Hi Truckster,
Yeh, I looked at that, but the bar is plastic, and I suspect that it may not be as strong if re-drilled. I also looked at elongating the hole in the bracket, but was dubious about that as
well. Then when I saw this for 30 bucks, I decided that all this stuffing around wasn't worth it when I could get a made-up one.
The door just clears the tail light, but clear it, it does, and that's all that matters.
Gerry
