battery fuel pump

Does anybody know where I can get the portable fuel pump that takes D-sized battery's, saw one used the other day & the owner said he saw it used on Pat Callinan's 4x4 show & found it in a shop in Brisbane but could not give me anymore info about it,
It was a little ripper of a pump for jerry cans

Just search on eBay using "fuel transfer pump battery operated".
Be aware that any battery-operated fuel transfer pump is going to be fairly limited in its pumping ability - and all sellers appear to advise against pumping from ground level into tanks.
They advise that raising the jerrycan to the same level as the tank, is needed to get a satisfactory flow rate.

Duck - Yes, one has to remember that virtually all Chinese-made products are built to meet the lowest price for that product - and you nearly always get exactly what you paid for.

A pump being powered by torch batteries means that, either the pump output will be pretty low, or the pump will eat batteries like there's no tomorrow.

You'd be well advised to use only alkaline batteries, and I've found that Duracell Ultra D Batteries, available in a set of 2 from Bunnings for about $7.00, are the most durable of all the D cell batteries.
