Dave........u will need up date on the track across as you get nearer to departure. But,can tell u the following, let down your tyres, tie down everything in the vehicle, it will want to be up in the front
seat with u otherwise, and don,t use plastic boxes for storage, they will fall apart. Went through on the french line in late May, road was ok then.....that means nothing now though. Have a good trip, and watch for others travelling east to west.
Birdsville C/park, great spot, good people. Uther.

The first two weeks of July are the busiest two weeks of the year in the Simpson. So whatever the weather/track conditions are like, you'll have plenty of people to share them with ! Drop a line just before you leave and we can let you know the latest. The Track at the moment is in excellent condition (the rain last week firmed it up. Both sides of the desert are drying out fast, and by July the
wildflowers should be blooming. Great time to be out there.
We've got the best coffee & curries waiting when you come out of the desert (open 9am - 10pm daily), and every night in July a warm fire and entertainment.

If you stay on the French Line your major difficulty will be
population.... Take a cruise down the
Rig Road and pop out on the K1 line....Nice and tranquil.....
