G'day guys

I'm having trouble making a decision on whether to buy a Mazda Bravo 2002 Extra Cab, Turbo Diesel with steel try or a Toyota Hilux 2000 model single cab Diesel.

Both are similarly priced. Can someone give me their opinions on each? And also how good is the Bravo offroad? Will the bravo engine last as long as the hilux diesel will?

Cheers

Justin

IMO, if you are into remote areas travel, and the Mazda throws a wobbly, few places carry spares and changeover units for various components are vitually non-existent.
I've seen it happen - blow a Hilux trans and you can get a used one from somewhere in a couple of days. Do that with the Mazda and you have to rebuild your trans ! Had a Bravo - good vehicle - let the tyres down and its great in dunes -
just that the spares and repairs is problematic if you are not in a huge town.

Chalk and cheeze as far as I can see..

Hilux is a proven offroader, with lots of accessories over the counter available, would go miles past a Bravo, towing another bravo... Also 1000's of second hand accessories available for Lux's....

Parts are available anywhere for lux's, well would be easier than a Bravo.

What do you want it for? Towing, long distance travel??

G'day,

A bit of towing, mainly lugging motorbikes, lawnmowers, chainsaws etc in the back, and probably some reasonable off-roading too.
