I'm currently doing some Place admin for the
Great Australian Bight area, and looking for information about the
campsite(s) in the Point Bell Conservation Area. I've put a message out to the DEH to provide more info as per their website (as there's nothing published), but if any of you can help out that would be great. What I'm interested to know is if camping is at a designated area and if so, exactly where - ie. the coordinates please.
Also, if anyone has photos of any of the
Places I've been updating today please upload them. Just go to
Places - look at the Recently Updated
Places to see what I"m referring to.
Could work for a lifetime just on
Places... love it but it makes one hungry to travel, not work! TTFN

Thanks Joe, that looks reasonable as that's where the road ends but I don't see any evidence of a
campsite on the sat maps (however it would be pretty arid I'm guessing and not
well used). Would be great if I could have someone personally verify they've been there. I've mapped it anyway in
Places here - see
Point Bell Camp Ground

Well I am now in touch with the
Ranger and there are actually 3 campgrounds - so I will be adding the references to these to
Places once confirmed.

For anyone interested, I have now verified 3 camping areas on the Point Bell Conservation Area and have the GPS position supplied by the
ranger now entered into
Places.
These are:-
Point Bell
No 1 Camping Area
Point Bell
No 2 Camping Area
Point Bell
No 3 Camping Area
#2 and #3 are only accessible by experienced 4WDrivers and can only be reached on a low tide.
#1 is accessible by a mid-range clearance 4WD with little 4wd experience - is located at the end of the Point Bell Rd.

To get the latest Place updates downloaded offline, simply go to the Data Manager in the
ExplorOz Traveller app and click Update (internet connection required).
