Looking to fit a new winch to my 100 series. Had a look at a 9,500 lb VRS winch with dryneema rope today. Anyone with same or similar type able to provide any feedback good or bad appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I have the same winch on my 79 series for the past five years and it's worked fine when needed. Tested it last week and it worked fine.

Cheers, Geoff

Hey mate. The VRS is a great winch. Very reliable unit, we run several on our QG vehicles and never an issue. I am looking at getting an Ironman 9500lb dyneema for my 105 series. I've been put through 2 x 4wd courses in the past 8 years and both trainers have the Ironmans on their 100 series and they've never faulted, they get used everyday and not one issue

That is why they haven’t failed!
Used my Ironman once, to rescue a mate, spooled it occasionally, went to use it the other day to pull up a windmill, dead as a dodo.

Shouldnt give up the ghost that easy. Maybe dirty contacts or something?

Not as bad as what we had last year. We had to winch a v8 single cab up a greasy hill and the only tree worth winching off was some distance away but we had a crack at it. We rolled the cable out and were 1m off the tree and the cable just fell off the drum... the lug on the end wasny even screwed onto the drum!!!
