Yep, definitely need to use the QLD parks website booking system.
It's not too bad, have used it several times for trips when up in SEQ.
Register and keep your login info in a note in your phone somewhere for future use.
Fishing, usually something happening up there, anywhere on the east coast, see a lot of people bagging the sand at waterline for bloodworms at Teewah a few weeks ago.
Have a google for fish seasons, what's running, should be able to find what's going on and then google best baits and rigs.

Had a friend who booked his
camp sites as he went recently, using the NP on line booking scheme.
He did have a 5m high antennae system for his modem.
Cheers,

Mick, we did a trip to Fraser Island last year and yes, definately need to book campsites. We picked camps South, central East coast and North East Coast. Campstie 1-
Central Station (
camping area) in off the coast big
camp area in the bush,
Campsite 2 vicinity
Eli Creek South
Camp (right on
the beach) - Awsome spot great fishing anywhere in this area,
Campsite 3-Dunduburra Van Park. Talking to locals fishing is pretty good depending on winds but North to
Sandy point seems to be the go for fishing trips.. We didn't make it. We did ok on Fraser Islang but got to say best fishing was on
Rainbow Beach for us prior to going over. Good luck it is a beatiful island and so relaxing.
